The Story of Belles

A Tradition of Baking, Perfected Over Time

A woman wearing a blue and white checkered dress stands in a kitchen behind a counter with cookies, chocolate bars, and sliced lemons and strawberries. The kitchen has white cabinets and a tray of cookies behind her. A small vase with pink flowers is in the background.

My grandma Belle was an icon. She was everything good and slow and sweet. She was funny, kind and loved everyone who walked through the door unconditionally. Whenever you were with Grandma Belle you instantly felt loved and cared for. She was happy to see you, happy to listen to you and always happy to feed you. I was given her name and 16 beautiful years with her and I’m grateful for both. When you bite into a Belles cookie I hope it tastes delicious and makes you feel warm and cared for. Belles cookies are made with love and a passion to share the sweetness of a life well lived and a love freely given.

I have always loved to bake and to bring sweetness to any gathering. Baking is a way to destress from a busy day and create memories in the kitchen with my family. I have always wanted to start a bakery and name it after my namesake, Lula Belle, my great grandmother. Lula Belle was a pioneer for our family and safe place. I always dreamt of what it would be like to own a business named after her and I think there is not greater way to carry on her legacy than to provide a physically sweet reason for people to gather together. Whether you are celebrating another year of life, marrying the love of your life, or just want to end the day with a delicious cookie I hope Belles is the reason you gather and a small way you celebrate the small and the big things in life.
